Wyoming is one of the 50 states in USA. Known as the Cowboy State and the Equality State, Wyoming is located in the western part of the country. If you don’t feel like climbing, the Devil’s tower can be reached by walking also. The Indians who lived in this region called it Mato Tipila, which means the Bear’s Tower. There are many legends about how the tower occurred but one of them has remained till today.
According to Indian story, seven little girls played in the area but a bear came and chased them. They climbed on the rock and start begging it to become higher and higher, the rock has heard their prayers and started to grow until it reached the sky. When it reached it, seven little stars occurred on the sky.
Today this constellation is knows as the Pleiades. According to the legend the holes that still can be seen on Devil’s Towers were made by the claws of the bear. In that area there are plenty of vacation rentals offering a great view of the tower.
Another place worth visiting in Wyoming is Cody with the famous Buffalo Bill Historical Centre that tells the story about the famous man after whom the city if named. William Frederick Cody has become a symbol of the town and in some way of Wyoming after the notorious contract for supplying buffalo meat.
